Rance Booth Smith Architects were appointed to develop proposals for a new Platform Building Materials unit at Croydon by Saint-Gobain.

The work involved surveying existing redundant industrial space to be demolished and a 1930s office building and preparing schemes.

It was decided that the office building was worthy of retention and reinstatement. Through protracted negotiations planning approval was obtained.
