Founding Director Retires
Since RBS Architects formed in 1982, the company has been guided by Allan Booth, one of the founders. Today we would like to announce the retirement of our distinguished director, Allan and embrace the bright future that awaits us under the management of current Directors Linda Hollings and Martyn Booker who will continue the RBS legacy.
Allan has given 41 years of dedication to RBS, driving the business to become an award-winning practice with his passion for design. He has not only shaped our practice’s identity but has also fostered a culture of collaboration, excellence, and unwavering commitment to our clients' goals.
Allan has been a great inspiration to everyone here at RBS, a popular member of the team both here in the office and with clients. His quick wit and willingness to always help others will truly be missed. Allan's retirement is a significant milestone for RBS, but it is also a time of great opportunity.
Linda Hollings has been an owner of the business since 1996. More recently Martyn Booker was also brought into the shareholding to pave the way for Allan’s departure. Together they will lead RBS into the next era of architectural excellence. Our retiring director, Allan, has played a key role in identifying and mentoring both Linda and Martyn.
In a statement, Allan said: "I am proud of what we have achieved together over the last 41 years. I know that Linda and Martyn will continue to build on our success and take the firm to even greater heights! They have been instrumental in shaping our company culture and values."
Linda said: “I was interviewed by Allan for the post of Architect back in 1991 and since then we have worked closely together, respecting each others skills and qualities, and forming a genuine and long term friendship. I am confident in our ability to take the business forward for many years to come. I know that we will be able to call on Allan’s expertise whenever required and wish him well in his retirement.”
Martyn said: "Having joined RBS in 2003 I feel that I am well placed to continue the business as established by Allan in 1982. I am grateful to Allan for his guidance over many years and in particular since I became a Director and business owner in 2020. Allan’s work to develop a highly sustainable business will live on."
As we bid farewell to Allan, we also celebrate the continuation of our architectural legacy.
Our Directors will continue to carry forward the torch of innovation, sustainability, and artistic flair that have been the cornerstones of our architectural firm since its inception.
Retirements are not endings but new beginnings. Today, we honour Allan for his outstanding leadership. The legacy of RBS remains alive and vibrant, ready to make its mark on the world for generations to come.
