The Norcroft Conference Centre

Client: University of Bradford
Contract Value: £2.3 million

This state-of-the-art eco conference and exhibition centre is next to the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics at the University of Bradford. The building has been designed to blend in by following the natural contours of the land, allowing two levels to be developed: there is a multifunctional space which can be used for conferences, lectures, theatre and social functions, an informal café with glazed meeting 'pods' and a conference suite.

Environmental features include natural ventilation and a no-maintenance 'green' sedum roof which will change colour with the seasons. All the finishes and furniture are made from sustainable sources.

The green concepts include a high BREEAM rating, natural ventilation, wind turbines, solar control louvers, a green sedum roof, a combined heat and power plant and a building management system.
