The refurbishment of a Grade II listed building to create a multipurpose 120-seater theatre and new entrance.
St Peter’s House, a prestigious Grade II listed building is home to the Leading South Asian arts organisation Kala Sangam who offer dance classes, workshops and training covering all aspects of art, dance, and theatre.
We used our specialisms in Conservation, Interior design, and Sustainability to design a phased programme of refurbishment works covering all three floors, creating theatre spaces, café, artists workshops, glass box multifunction workshops and conference facilities.
To improve accessibility the project created an impressive new glass entrance set within the listed façade which linked to a lift to all floors, along with the new theatre space.
“RBS have been our architects over the last 10 years and have delivered a number of refurbishment and interiors projects, and an initial feasibility study. They have worked with us to secure funding and been flexible and helpful, providing consistent personnel over the many years, who have been readily available for informal advice. They are a pleasure to work with.”
