The creation of a master plan and new community centre for Eston Park
The projects aim was to determine the best future use of Eston Park and provide a focal point for the regeneration of a deprived area of the Tees Valley.
Our involvement included assessing the history of the park and the industrial heritage of the local areas and carrying community engagement with local groups and statutory organisations to determine possible future uses. This played a vital role in creating a masterplan which reflected local needs.
We created a masterplan for the area and designed an exemplar low energy community building incorporating renewable technologies to provide year-round indoor and outdoor amenities for the enjoyment of the local community. The project included new exhibition and activity spaces, a learning centre and cafe.
