Saltaire United Reformed Church

Client: Trustees of Saltaire United Reformed Church
Contract Value: 500,000

Rance Booth Smith Architects undertook a major refurbishment and restoration of this Grade I listed church. Work included the reinstatement of the gilded finial, new lead work to the dome, the restoration and gilding of the belfry grilles, the new roof covering to the nave and the re-building of the west gable.

Substantial stonework and timber repairs were undertaken throughout the building, requiring extensive precautions to protect the interior during the works.

The work was supported by English Heritage Lottery Fund, European Funding and funds raised locally by the Trustees.
