We are proud to announce the official opening of Shipley’s new Sustainable Community Hub.
The year-long refurbishment of the Old School Building on Kirkgate, has transformed the space into a contemporary base for charitable organisations Hive and the Kirkgate Community Centre, which will work together in in providing complementary services and facilities for the local community.
The £3million project was funded with £2.51million from the Government-funded Shipley Towns Fund, as well as funding from the Community Ownership Fund, BD25, Mayor’s Climate Change Grant and the Architectural Heritage Fund.
We are really pleased and proud to have worked on this project alongside Michael Eyres Partnership LLP, Furness Partnership, Thornley & Lumb Partnership Ltd, Whitaker and Leach Ltd. The team have delivered an amazing project that has been transformed into a contemporary and efficient space, but still retains the look and feel of the quirky historic building that is loved by the community.
