2017 Charity of the Year

Our chosen charity partner for 2017 is Sue Ryder – Manorlands Hospice

Sue Ryder

Sue Ryder provides compassionate care to people with end of life and long term needs. They are a national charity delivering health and social care services. Manorlands Hospice is situated in West Yorkshire on the northern edge of the village of Oxenhope. The hospice provides incredible palliative care and complementary therapy services to support people with life-limiting conditions which can involve complex physical or psychological problems. Care focuses on helping resolve these problems whilst supporting family, carers and close friends. This care is known as specialist palliative care. They offer this support to people living in Craven, Airedale, and Wharfedale as well as central, northern and western areas of Bradford.

Choosing our charities

Every year in December we ask staff to nominate charities they would like to support the following year.  Once the nominations are in, each member of staff then votes for their chosen charity.

Sue Ryder received the greatest number of votes for 2017.

We will be raising funds for the charity through a series of fundraising activities and events such as the Keighley big 5K which a team of staff took part in in March.
