Saltaire Open Gardens and Sculpture Trail 2015
We'd like to thank everyone who took part in Saltaire Open Gardens and Sculpture Trail. For the fourth year running Rance Booth Smith Architects supported the Open Gardens, in conjunction with Saltaire Festival and Saltaire Inspired.
Thirteen gardens, including the Canalside allotments, Wash House gardens, Veg on the Edge Sunday School Garden and Hirst Wood Nature Reserve were open to visitors, showcasing a fantastic variety of planting and creativity, alongside stunning sculptures and ceramics. There was also a variety of pop up shops along the trail for visitors to enjoy too.
43, Rhodes Street and 23, Constance Street were voted joint winners this year by the Judges’, both receiving the Rance Booth Smith winner’s prize.
This year's visitors prize went to 17 George Street. The votes were spread across the gardens, but the one that captured the public’s imagination was 17 George Street, comments included “water and lights make a relaxing place to sit” and “it looks and feels like an Italian Courtyard garden”.
The event showcased a fantastic variety of planting and creativity, alongside stunning sculptures and ceramics, creating an inspiring trail for visitors to enjoy.
